Fashion publication applauds luxury handbag as ‘somewhere between an oversize cigarette case and an exquisite work of art’
SAN FRANCISCO, March 20, 2012 – Luxury fashion brand Jill Milan, a provider of designer handbags made in Italy, announced its Art Deco Clutch was named to W magazine’s “Most Wanted” feature in the publication’s April 2012 issue, available on newsstands this week. The monthly feature compiles fashion and lifestyle products nominated by the publication’s editorial staff.
“The W team is exceptionally discerning in the brands and products it names to the monthly ‘Most Wanted’ feature, and for them to recognize our Art Deco Clutch is beyond gratifying,” said Jill Fraser, chief executive officer of Jill Milan. “We are delighted to be among such prestigious company.” Other brands included in the April feature include Cartier, Chanel, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent.
“Who needs jewelry when you’re carrying a Jill Milan Art Deco clutch?” reads W magazine’s commentary on the luxury handbag. “Made entirely by hand in Florence by one of Europe’s most prestigious jewelers, it’s somewhere between an oversize cigarette case and an exquisite work of art – and there are currently only 20 of them in the world.” The Art Deco Clutch was nominated by W Assistant Managing Editor Roseann Marulli Rodriguez.
The Art Deco Clutch is made of Italian stainless steel and is available in silver or gold. The interior is fully lined and the logo at the top of the clutch functions as the bag’s closure.
W is a monthly fashion magazine published by Condé Nast Publications. It was created in 1971 and has a reader base of nearly half a million.

[San Francisco, CA, March 2012] In the beginning of March 2012, San Francisco shoe brand—deeFind— launched a campaign to raise funds intended for the manufacturing costs of their Spring/Summer 2012 line. After receiving the first order of their merchandise and discovering changes with both the manufacturing and their manufacturer, deeFind reinvented this season’s line and is now marketing toward a more focused, small run of concept shoes, available only at special trunk shows, by-appointment-only sessions and private wholesale events. The funding will now be allocated to deeFind’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection which is set to begin production sometime in November of this year.
Since the brand’s launch back in June 2011, the brand has blazed through the local San Francisco fashion scene causing boutiques owners, fashion bloggers, and devout followers to rubber neck over Dierdre Wallace’s ultrafeminine, infectiously-fierce shoe designs. In more recent news, deeFind was a featured designer in one of this year’s most important industry events in music, interactive technology, film and now fashion at South by Southwest’s (SXSW) fashion showcase Style X, where Wallace’s shoes blew off the shelves. This head nod to the brand’s bold style triggered an immediate head nod to deeFind’s hard work and high-toned designs, causing fashion bloggers, photographers, customers and buyers to swarm the booth for two days. Given that deeFind is such a young company, being recognized with as much buzz as they’ve received is both an immense honor for Dierdre Wallace and Creative Director Melina Jones, and a thrilling harbinger of things to come. With inventory still stocked from last season, the Fall / Winter collection is currently available on deeFind’s online store as well as Bay Area boutiques, such as The Hub in Marin County and San Francisco clothing gems Wonderland and Artillery.

ABOUT INDIEGOGO
“When our founders joined forces in 2007, they had diverse backgrounds and varied interests. However, they had one important thing in common: Danae, Eric and Slava each tried to raise money for something they were passionate about, but they came up short. They had great ideas, the passion to work hard, and good networks, yet access to funding through traditional channels proved limited. The trio was determined to find a solution to the problem. Indiegogo was born; the crowdfunding solution that empowers ideas and enables people to donate funds easily.”

If there is a shoe party, you know I am there! And if there is only ONE foot fete one should not miss is the 20th anniversary of Christian Louboutin’s iconic red soles.
I, along with some of San Francisco’s most fashionable ladies, attended this invite-only preview of his legendary works of art at Neiman Marcus! (yes, to me, footwear is like art, and it this line actually made it on SFgate.com)
The event featured light bites, bubbly and lots of drool worthy sandals, boots, booties, flats and heels. This capsule collection, which is only available at Neiman Marcus on Union Square in the Bay Area and select stores worldwide, features some Louboutin’s most iconic shoes such as the ‘plumette,’ with actual feathers, the ‘Love’ flats (which are his favorite all-time) and of course the fringe boots that pay homage to only leggy gal, Ms. Tina Turner, among other eye catching masterpieces.
It is amazing Christian Louboutin has only been around for 20 years. Through the years, this footwear maestro managed to give us some of the most innovative footwear we can remember. (oh yeah, not to mention the red soles, despite some legal run-ins)
When a woman walks, there is nothing sexier than seeing a classic pair of patent leather pumps (of course I am referring to the Rolando) with that little peek-a-boo of red in the bottom. It’s almost as if they transport you to the 1950s or 1960s when women’s fashions were ladylike, demure and offered a bit of a je ne sais quo feel!
We all admired the shoes and dreamt what it’d be like to actually own a piece of footwear history, until looking at the price tag and realizing that we had to pay rent the next week.
A girl can dream or in this case many girls are probably dreaming!
